Lions Club logo 082009This is the second annual Lions Club Appreciation Week; not just for Lions Clubs, but also a special time set aside to take some moments each day to be grateful for good friends, neighbors, family, great
leaders in our towns, county, state and our great United States of America!

Conceived by Lion Jack Levy, a member of the Union County Lions Club, last year and also approved by the Union County Commissioner, Lamar Paris, to begin on the third Sunday of August each year and continue for a full seven days thereafter.

This special week also includes churches of all faiths who teach us of the love of God. We are blessed to have outstanding men and women who continue to teach our children the Ten Commandments and what real freedom is all about and how this great nation was founded upon the principle of those Ten Commandments.

We ARE a proud nation, with a wonderful and great history of blood and tears shed for others all over this world. A nation proud of her men and women who serve in our Armed Forces; men and women who give their lives that others may live!

As great Americans, we have given our share to the less fortunate of the world and will continue to do so as do our Lions Clubs for our Lions motto is:  We Serve!
