Quilts for Disadvantaged Children

Members of the Misty Mountain Quilters Guild meet on Tuesdays at the Mountain Presbyterian Church in Blairsville. Many of the members work on quilts to be given to sick, abused, and displaced children, many of whom are in foster care. The 190 members of the guild, from north Georgia and North Carolina, make sure there is a steady supply of these “Hugs and Kisses” quilts. This week, Nancy Gillis, of Blairsville, Debbie Lachmiller, of Young Harris, and Florie Campbell, of Blairsville, spent several hours cutting batting for quilt tops that had been completed by other members.
