Zion United Methodist Church

It’s been a long cold winter, but you can feel God’s promise of Spring in the air!  God declared in Genesis 8:22:  ”As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”  There is not one thing we can imagine that God has not already prepared for our pleasure.

Speaking of pleasure, Zion UMC offers you a variety of lunch menu to satisfy your pallet every Wednesday from 11:30 until 1:00.  This week, the 23rd our meal will feature home made Mac and Cheese.  March 2nd, everybody’s favorite, Meat Loaf, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and home made dessert.

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service at 11:00 a.m., every Sunday.  March 6th we will have a very special Communion Service as we prepare our hearts for the Lenten Season.  Each Sunday during Lent, our focus will be on Jesus’ journey during His last week prior to His resurrection.

We invite you to come and worship with us.  We are a Christ centered congregation with seeking hearts eager to learn and experience the precious things God has planned for our lives.

Surprise Serenade at Christ the King

The men of Christ the King Church pampered the ladies of the church for a Valentine’s dinner on February 20. The men prepared a delicious dinner of spaghetti, salad, Italian bread, side dishes and desserts to show appreciation to the ladies, who prepare the church family dinners every week.

A surprise program followed the dinner when the men serenaded the ladies by singing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” and “Love Me Tender.”  The ladies were really surprised and pleased and applauded the men for the scrumptious dinner their thoughtful and loving attention.

Services at Christ the King Church (Anglican) are Sundays at 9:00am. (traditional) and 10:30am (contemporary) with Holy Communion at both services.  Holy Communion is offered at 12 noon on Wednesdays and Bible Discovery hour is at 7pm. The church is located at 145 N. Main Street in Hiawassee, across from the Post Office between Noblet’s and the $2 Store.

Sunday February 27th, Rev. We invite everyone to hear his stirring and inspiring messages.  Dr. Johnson is well versed in metaphysics and theology.
