<td valign="middle">James Lloyd McCollum, age 81, of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Murphy Medical Center.</p>
<p>He was a native of Ecorse, MI and the son of the late Oscar and Stella Frances LeBlanc McCollum. James had worked in several industries in his life including the Automotive Business and Real Estate Investing. He had been a Deacon and a Charter member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs, FL. James was also involved in the Youth Ministry, Bus Ministry, was a Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director. In coming to the Hayesville area he became a member of the Mountain of Faith Baptist Church in the Shooting Creek community.</p>
<p>James was a passionate witness for Christ, a devoted husband and a Godly father.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Beth McCollum; two sons, David and wife, Pat of Hayesville and Donald and wife Lorraine of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Nina McCollum of Ft. Myers, FL; three grandchildren, Jonathan and wife Elena McCollum, Daniel and wife Jamie McCollum and Timothy and wife Julianne McCollum all of Charlotte, NC and three great-grandchildren, Emma McCollum, Maryn McCollum and Nicholas McCollum.</p>
<p>Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Timothy Jones, Rev. William Lytell, Rev. John Boutchia and Rev. Anthony Dye will officiate. Burial will be in the Hayesville Baptist Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Allison, Donald Herr, Gene Wimberly, Timothy McCollum, Jonathan McCollum and Daniel McCollum.</p>
<p>The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home of Hayesville.</p>

<p>December 28, 1927- January 1, 2012</p>
<p>James Sanford Huff, age 84 passed away January 1, 2012 at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, Ga. after a brief illness. James was born December 28, 1927 , a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., but lived in Hayesville, N.C. for the past  14 years.  He was a businessman for 35 years owning and operating an IGA Grocery store in Lawrenceville, Ga. Upon retirement he also worked at the Atlanta Athletic Center &amp; Golf Course for many years. James was a Veteran of the United States Navy.</p>
<p>James is survived by his wife, Barbara Walker Huff, of Hayesville, N.C., a brother, Bryant Huff and his wife, Sherry of Broxton, Ga., a sister , Mildred Breedlove of Snellville, Ga., one son, Donnie Huff of Snellville, Ga., one daughter, Jan Huff, of  Acworth, Ga., Granddaughter, Jessica, Grand-son , Dusty, and great-granddaughters, London and Savannah.</p>
<p>He is also survived by his wife&#8217;s children , all who loved him very much. Sam and Debra Walker, of Hayesville, NC, and their children, Michelle, James and Jennifer.</p>
<p>Tracy &amp; Fred Stephens, of Buford, Ga. and their children, Nicholas, Jena, Alex and Shelley. Larry and Susan Beckford of Young Harris, Ga., and Janet and Pete Goletz of Lawrenceville, Ga. He will be missed greatly .</p>
<p>An avid gardener James created many large gardens over the years, where most of his vegetables were shared by family and friends. He could always be found among his plants on any given nice day. He loved tending his fruit trees and took pride in his yard and garden. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.</p>
<p>A Memorial Service will be held January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, in Hiawassee, Ga. where family and friends can gather for fond remembrances.</p>

<p>Mr. William “Bill” Palmer Shubert, age 58, of Bunker Hill DR, Blairsville, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2012 at Union General Hospital after a brief illness. Bill was born August 15, 1953 in Ft. Belvour, VA son of the late James and Juanita Russell Shubert. He had lived in this area for the past 30 years. He loved Riding Motorcycles and building things. Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Shubert in 2009. He attended New Hope Baptist Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife, Ruth Shubert of Blairsville, children, James Shubert, JR and his fiancé, Jasmine Jones of Blairsville, Angie and D.J. DeJoseph of Blairsville, Billie and Jeff Daniel of Blairsville, brother, James Shubert of Daytona, FL, sisters, Judith Shubert of Daytona, FL and Sheila Abrams of Daytona, FL, grandchildren, Dillion Shubert, Josh Daniel, Jonah Daniel, Kenndy Daniel, Bailey Daniel, Madison Garrett, Ally Jo Shubert, Jaykob Shubert Madison Snow, and baby boy Shubert.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make donations to help defray medical and funeral expenses. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.</p>

<p>Mr. John (Jack) Joseph Holleran, age 71, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on January 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Holleran was born on Christmas Day in 1940, the son of the late James and Helen Holleran. Mr. Holleran was a graduate of Millburn High School in Millburn, NJ, Class of 1958. Mr. Holleran attended Rider University in Trenton, NJ. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Holleran was a self employed Manufactures Representative. He was a loving husband to his wife, Lynne, a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Holleran, and one sister, Joan Pappas. Mr. Holleran attended St. Francis of Assisi Church in Blairsville, GA.</p>
<p>Mr. Holleran is survived by and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynne. All of Jacks’s children from his first marriage to Leslie Poe, reside in St. Augustine, FL, a son, Jack, a son, Jeff and his wife Kelly, a daughter Kelly and her husband Dan Borrer, two grandchildren, Reilly Kathleen Holleran and Jameson Murphy Holleran, known to his grandchildren as Pop-Pop. Mr. Holleran was from a big Irish family. He was the fourth child in a family of six, two brothers Jim and Bill, three sisters, Joan Pappas (deceased) Terry Motzel and Ellyn Holleran. Mr. Holleran  had many nieces and nephews, of whom loved “Uncle Jack”. He moved to Blairsville, GA in 2001 and he truly loved Blairsville, GA! Mr. Holleran lived in Seagirt, NJ and Jupiter, FL before moving to Blairsville, GA. Mr. Holleran was a gentleman in every respect and will be sorely missed by those who loved him. His sense of humor was quick. He made everyone laugh. His favorite song, as were many Irish tunes, was the “Holleran Song”. Mr. Holleran was a member of the Elks in St. Augustine, FL, the American Legion in Hiawassee and a member of the Chatuge Gun Club.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bob Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.</p>

<p>Mr. Rosario J. Chinnici Jr, age 90, of Deerpath LN, Hendersonville, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville after a brief illness. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, November 4, 1921 son of the late Rosario Chinnici Sr and the late Antonina Lobiondo Chinnici. He lived in Garden, City, New York from 1955 to 1989 when he retired to Hendersonville. Mr. Chinnici was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Palomba, three brothers, James Chinnici, Santo Chinnici, Michael Chinnici, and son-in-law Philip H. Hancock. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife Jennie Chinnici of Hendersonville, NC, children, Marie Hancock of Hiawassee, GA, Kathleen Chinnici of Fletcher, NC and Jane Chinnici of Hiawassee, GA, brother Joseph Chinnici of New York City, three grandchildren, Jennifer Chinnici, Dennis Hancock and his wife Alice, Steven Hancock and his wife Jo Ellen, five great grandchildren, Nick Hancock, Drew Hancock, Megan Hancock, Vika Hancock and Zhenya Hancock, brothers-in-law, Ignatius D’Agostino, Ronald D’Agostino and Joseph D’Agostino, sister-in-law, Vera Chinnici and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be announced and held at a later date. Interment will be in St. Clare’s Haven located at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers make memorials to the American Kidney Foundation.</p>

<p>Mr. Fred Houston Poteet, age 58, of Blue Ridge Hwy, Blairsville, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. Fred was born December 29, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He moved here in 1992. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Poteet and a son, Justin Poteet in 1992. He was a member of Youngstown Baptist Church.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife, Gail Poteet of Blairsville, mother, Pauline Driggins of Hixon, TN, daughter and son-in-law, Becka and Tim Hamilton of Blairsville, Carly Poteet of Gainesville, GA, brothers, Paul and Julie Poteet of Palm Beach, FL, Bill and Kathy Hixon of Dayton, TN, Jim and Deborah Hixon of Hixon, TN, Mike and Diane Poteet of Etowah, TN, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry and Glenda White of Chattanooga, TN, Larry and Diane Blanks of Fayetteville, GA, grandchildren, Cody Short, Peyton Hamilton, Makenzie Randolph and Braylon Randolph, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Hood officiating. Music will be by Becka, Cody and Tim. Honorary Pallbearers will be co-workers of Colwell PDC. In lieu of flowers make memorials to Glenda Gooch Foundation. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.</p>

<p>Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Celebration of Life Services for Mae Nichols Dills, age 82, who received her just reward of eternal life and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at her daughter&#8217;s home in South Carolina following an amazingly courageous battle with colon cancer.</p>
<p>Born in Hiawassee, Georgia on February 14, 1929 to her late parents, Lawrence McKinley Nichols and Bessie Shook Nichols, Mae was the loving wife of her World War II sweetheart, Riley William Dills, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hiawassee and taught Sunday School for many years. Mae was an outgoing personality, who never met a stranger or was never at a loss for kind words or kind deeds. Mae loved her family dearly and lived a life devoted to the love and well-being of her family &#8211; who loved her and cherished her beyond words. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as &#8220;Gammie&#8221;. Our mother and Gammie was the provider of encouragements and a giver of totally unconditional love.</p>
<p>Mae is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Patti) Dills Boseman and Peggy Dills Morris; her &#8220;son&#8221;, James (Jim) Morris, III; extremely loving grandmother of Jaime Morris Powell and Brian Powell, Rylei Elizabeth Morris Lockhart and Jason Lockhart. Adoring great grandmother of Ethan Riley Powell and Aiden Riley Lockhart. She is survived by loving siblings: sister, Mildred (Me Me) Nichols Woody and brother-in-law, Walter Woody; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lex Nichols and Janice Davis Nichols; Ralph Nichols and Ramona West Nichols; Willard Nichols and Toni Mason Nichols. Mae was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Donnie and Lawrence Ellis; Bonnie and Grady Edwards, Florence and Dan Jenkins, Alva and Tom Cowart, and by her brother and sister-in-law Lawrence Nichols, Jr. and Jean Hedden Nichols. Mae is loved by many nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart. Mae loved her husband, Riley Dills&#8217;, family as her own.</p>
<p>A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Georgia. Reverend Chester Edwards (nephew) officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall at 2:00 p.m., with a private family graveside service at 4:00 p.m., at Enotah Cemetery.</p>

<p>Mrs. Mary Caroline Payne, age 50, of Clark RD, Clermont, GA, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011, at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following a brief illness. Mary was born September 25, 1961 in Cumming, GA daughter of the late Joseph and Margie Goode Shirley. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.</p>
<p>Survivors include her husband, Harley Payne, Sr. of Clermont, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Harley and Kimberly Payne, Jr. of Clermont, GA, brothers, Mack Shirley of Clermont, GA, Hugh Shirley of Clermont, GA, Grover and Melissa Shirley of Cumming, GA, aunt, Jannell Motors of Cumming, GA, cousin, Jacky Simmons of Gainesville, GA.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Mountain View Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Potts and Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.</p>
<p>The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday Dec. 26, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m.</p>

<p>Mrs. Marie Lois Coffey Moore, age 72, of Crooked Creek RD, Young Harris, GA passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. Marie was born in Marble, NC, on January 5, 1939, daughter of the late Luther and Mary Bell Queen Coffey. She was preceded in death by her husband Pastor William Ray Moore in 2001 and son, James Moore in 1968.</p>
<p>Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, Johnnie Moore of Florence, SC, daughter, Jeannie Moore of TX, grandchildren Johnnie Moore, Jr., Julia Mustakas and Dustin Ballew, brothers, Howard Coffey and wife Martha, and Dale Coffey, special friends, B.J. Hunter and Rheta McConnell, several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Mission Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Darin Shuler, Rev. Homer Wilson and Rev. Johnnie Moore, JR officiating. Music will be by Mission Hill Choir, Korn Sisters and Larson Sisters. In lieu of flowers make memorials to Mission Hill Baptist Church or The Moss Cemetery Fund.</p>
